Re: Spanish as third language
I think when a second or third language is not required to be learned in school, students started to focus on learning other academic subjects but not that language anymore. Here, in my country (Malaysia), we are required to learn our national language (Malay language) and English. Chinese is not re...

Re: Earn a Living in Singapore
It's good for native English speakers. One of my friends are teaching Chinese in Singapore. It seems like teaching English or Chinese is quite demanded in Singapore. I think teaching English online is quite popular nowadays, it helps to make some extra money as well.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Chinese New Year is coming to the end. The first day fell on 5th February, and we usually celebrate it for 15 days. Though we don't have so many holidays for school and work, we still greet each other Happy Chinese New Year within these 15 days, and give gifts to relatives or friends and red packets...

Re: What's the best book you've ever read?
There are really many good books out there, and it's hard to choose the best book I've read. At this moment, I always recommend this parenting book "Simplicity Parenting" written by Kim John Payne as it inspired me and helped me a lot in my parenting path. Though there are many good parent...

Re: Eating Worms in the Philippines
I'm actually not surprised at watching this video of people eating worms because I have seen it a lot in most Chinese movies that I have watched as well all through my childhood age. I think it's a kind of culture in such areas to eat such things. I have seen people eat snakes, maggots, worms and e...

Re: Problems in living abroad
I think feeling home sick might be the biggest problem for me to live abroad. Though there might be friends to hang out, I will still always miss my home, my family and friends back in the home country, and my home country as well. I stayed in another country for a year before, though I enjoyed my l...

Re: 80/90s bands?
My favorite American band is Bon Jovi. If I am not mistaken, I was motivated by their popular song "It's my life". I also like their other songs, such as Thank you for loving me and Always. Another rock band I really like is from Taiwan, May Day. Their songs are very motivational and inspi...

Re: Harder language to learn?
I think there are different difficulties in learning these three languages. Among these three languages, I think Chinese characters are the most difficult to write as there are many different characters and with different pronunciations. I am not sure about Korean characters, but they are different ...

Re: What food to eat when having sore throat?
I always prefer to take boiled or steamed food, especially hot ones, like soup or soup noodles. I am currently having really bad sore throat now, besides soup noodles, I always eat porridge too, as it's easier to eat. Besides the food, I always drink warm water all the time. I also found that drinki...

Winter Solstice
There are many festivals in December, St. Nicholas Day, St. Lucia Day, Winter Solstice, then Christmas! For Chinese, we like to make tang yuan or balls of glutinous rice on Winter Solstice. It symbolizes reunion. We would like to have the family members gather together, enjoy the dinner and also the...
