Re: Have you eaten rat meat?
Whenever there is a surge of rats in the rice field, the government would conduct a program to eradicate the rats. One such program is the culinary contest in producing the best rat dish. I will not mention the province but people there are eating frog meat and rat meat as well. For me, I don't thin...

Re: Views about traveling
When the pandemic started we stopped traveling abroad because of the hassle in the covid requirements. I do not want to take a swab test. Besides there is the potential quarantine requirement depending on the policies of the foreign country. In other words, I do not feel comfortable in traveling wit...

The dependent visa in the US
My brother who got his citizenship the other year said that he had petitioned his 2 daughters who are in the Philippines. When approved the daughters can get an immigration visa to live with their parents. That would be wonderful and I'm sure my brother is already excited. However, it will take at l...

Re: South Asia
Now I realize that I have not been to Cambodia yet. It was my plan to visit that country and see the Ankor Wat that is a legendary temple inside the jungle. When the pandemic is gone I think I have to travel to Cambodia and then hop to Thailand for the fruits there.

Re: Coastal Regions
It is the start of summer here and I expect the travelers to the coastal regions this weekend. There are countless of beaches to choose from. My take is the nearest beach that is just about 3 hours drive away. I do not want to travel for too long because it is a waste not only of time but also of re...

Re: People are trying to get away from Ukraine
What's happening in Ukraine is really sad because the civilians are greatly affected. Many have died and millions have left the country. I cannot imagine staying if I were in the capital Kyiv because the bombing may give me a heart attack.

The Cherry Blossoms in Japan
In 2019 we have experienced the Sakura which is most commonly known as the Cherry Blossoms. We were lucky to have booked our vacation on the week that the trees were full of the cherry blossoms. Our pictures are worth the trip and it is one in a lifetime experience. But I admit that Tokyo is an expe...

The South China is being cordoned off by China
Chinese maritime vessels are having their heyday down south of the China Sea. That portion is owned by the Philippines but it is ironic that the Chinese are dominant there and they chase away the Filipino fisherman who goes to that area. I hope there would be courtesy in the sea so that we can avoid...

Just taking care of my kidney so I try to avoid salty food. For occasions the noodles will always be there although sometim...
