Re: Where are the best places to go in south korea?
I've only been to Seoul myself, a few people I know have been there and taken trips to the DMZ which is great if you are interested in the military/politics side of things. I loved Seoul though, I did a great cooking class there, I also visited a really nice palace called the Gyeongbokgung palace -...

Re: Conversational Japanese
I've been to Japan a number of times and I think it's fairly easy to get by without needing a bunch of language capability. I too used DuoLingo to pick up some of the language though, as another poster mentioned. Free apps are always helpful and it not only teaches you vocabulary but helps you remem...

Re: How did you learn English or teach your kids to learn English?
I learned in school, and then I had some friends who were foreigners so I guess I just practiced a lot with them. I think it's probably the easiest way to learn, when you can speak naturally with others - sometimes learning from a textbook makes you use words that aren't common in everyday speech. I...

Re: Would you forgive your partner for cheating
For me, no - I don't think I could. I think every time something happened I'd always be wondering what if. What if my partner was late home from work? I'd automatically assume the worst, because if someone has deceived you like that before I think it's always possible they'll do it again. I guess th...

Re: Northern Mariana Islands
I've been to Guam before and it felt a lot like Hawaii to me. I'm going to have to research the Northern Mariana Islands though - it sounds like a great vacation spot. I'm a big fan of peaceful places that are a little isolated, I think it makes for a more relaxing vacation. Also, if it's inexpensiv...

Re: On Saying "I Love You"
Well, before I met my husband we were online penpals, and I would say we both fell for each other before we met in person. Trust me, I thought that the concept was ridiculous too, that you could fall for someone and love them before you met them. We didn't admit that until we met in person, but I wo...

Re: Have you been to Mexico?
I've only been to Tijuana in Mexico, just across from the US border. It's not really all that great, probably because it feels quite "tourist trap" like and there are people everywhere trying to sell you stuff. I also remember there were loads of stray dogs wandering around the town which ...

Re: United States of America Destinations
Hawaii is without a doubt my favorite spot in the USA. Great beaches, shopping, culture and history, tasty food - it's number one on my list of places I want to return to. Maybe in the next couple of years we will take a trip back there. I'm dreaming of a pina colada!

Re: What do you prefer – urban or rural life?
I love being out somewhere in nature - but somewhere that has enough things that it doesn't feel boring. For instance, I feel like if I don't have a grocery store in the town that I was living in, then that might feel too small and cut off from the rest of the world. Cities are fun in small doses fo...
