Your country's Politics

Postby rnastee » Wed Jan 09, 2019 11:00 pm

What type of political system do you live in? Do you agree with it overall? If you could make some changes to your country's political system, what changes would you make?

I’m American, and if there is one thing I would like to change about my country is the laws on drugs...and not just marijuana. I think we should reduce the penalties of drug us and distribution. I think our jails are overrun my users and sellers of illegal drugs.

I think that in America we should have more than just 2 major political parties. This is why I try to support the "Green Party" because I think it is healthy for a country like the US to have many different political parties.

I'm from the US and I think the political climate here has been way too bad over the past few years. I just really think that everyone needs to take the time to just listen to each other and try to understand their point of view.

My home country is a democratic country, where the president's role is honorary and the prime minister has all the executive powers. Sadly, communists are in the power, they reached the government through elections by winning a landslide victory 3 years ago. However, due to the fight for power within the political party that rules the government, parliament has been dissolved and new elections have been announced.

Our country is a democratic system that changed from the 2-party system for presidential election to multi-party. In the last presidential election of 2016 there were 8 candidates and probably 6 major ones that divided the nation. Now our president is popular and they are aiming for his daughter to run for president next year. That is a real disaster for our political system.

I don't care for politics but if there is something that I would really want to change, is corruption. Also, the police have to much power.

We have an electoral system in the Philippines, so there are troubles being encountered in the process of voting because of corruption and vote buying.
