We all hear about how dangerous today's society is as compared to societies of the past. Is today's life really that much worst than the lives our past generations lived?

If you listen to the news nowadays you would think that today is alot more dangerous to live in than back in the past. But, is this really real or just the product of living in an age of 24/7 news?

There was another school shooting in California yesterday. So I would say that it is more dangerous now than it was 20-30 years ago.

I think that today's world is cleaner and healthier than in past generations. I recently watch some videos about how life was 100 years or so ago here in American. For example, although I knew about the problem of horse manure in the cities and town, I didn’t know that it was as bad as it really was. In all the old movies I watched growing up, the streets were always nice and clean. But in reality, there was the constant stench of manure and dead horses in the early cities. Imagine trying to eat under those conditions.

I would say that it's alot healthier. When I was growing up it seems like almost everyone was smoking cigarettes or chewing some type of tobacco product.

I think some things are better today - but the mass shootings in the U.S. are a big problem today. These attacks over time, have become more frequent and they are getting deadlier as well, with mass shootings on the rise every decade. For example in the 70s, mass shootings claimed about 5 lives, in the 80s, the amount was around 14 for a average, and it has increased every decade - with the average of 51 deaths this year.

I think that the time I grew up was just a whole lot more safer and people during that time where just more innocent and not as corrupted as the people are nowadays with the media and news.
