The choice of vaccine

Postby Alexandoy » Thu Jun 10, 2021 2:35 am

In the Philippines Sinovac is the most common vaccine against covid because more than 2 million doses were given free by China. Our government bought Pfizer and other brands that people now can choose. Unfortunately for me, Sinovac was my vaccine and I had no choice because the city where I got the vaccine has a policy to not allow a choice of vaccine.

The first vaccine to be introduced in my home country was Covishield. The vaccine was given to the senior citizens and front-line workers. The country has recently introduced Sinovac and the vaccine is also for elderly people. People of my age group are yet to be vaccinated. We don't have a choice either, we need to take the vaccine that the government decides for us.

Yes, I have to agree, I do think we really have no choice in selecting the vaccine that we will be given, it's random and selected by the government. I do hope all kinds of vaccines are equally effective though.
