I don't really have any special skills like in teaching or the medical field. Are there any programs for unskilled people to volunteer in?

I would think there is some great volunteer work out there with no special skills required- these would include building a house with habitat for humanity or volunteering at a soup kitchen of some kind, these would be some great ways to help out the community!

Why not go and learn any skill which you already feel like it's existing in you but dormant? It's never too late to learn and acquire something new that would most likely be of good use to you or your family in the future.

This is just my candid advice.

For volunteer work abroad, it is more feasible if you try the religious groups if you have no skill because what they need is the passion. But with other organizations like those involved in civic work I guess you need a skill that can be beneficial like handyman jobs or even skills in construction work.

There is one Volunteering Program called Students Partnership World Wide. This program allows people in the Developed World (US, Uk, Canada, etc.) to Volunteer in the developing World (India, Pakistan,etc.). You do not need any skills to volunteer through this program, the only requirement is you need to be a student. If you are a student, you can apply.

Yes, I think the easiest would be to volunteer in a feeding program or any program that allows you to clean something, you don't need to have special skills to do that and to help people.
