On my 2nd trip to Singapore (with my wife this time) we were offered a van to make it comfortable in touring the city. Fortunately a friend had warned us of renting a vehicle because it is easy to travel in Singapore. Use the train or bus with a card that you can load so you do not pay in cash. We did that. Although we got lost several times but it was exciting to ride the train and bus in touring the city.

I have a prey bad experience with renting a vehicle when I was in India. We ended up paying more money tban it actually cost for renting a vehicle. I think using a public vehicle is a better idea if you are in foreign countries, it not only saves you money but you are also less likely to get scammed.

I guess you really need to do your research when travelling abroad, you might get scammed and end up paying a lot more than when you would just be better off commuting.

With a hired vehicle you get to do more things imo. I hope you have fun. I hear Singapore is magical.
