Living in Spain

Please, I am looking for information regarding living and working in Spain from people that hold passports from other European Union countries, the type of documentation that's needed and how long it takes to start working.
I would also love to hear your experiences about the best city to live in Spain between Madrid and Barcelona, or perhaps any other of the major cities where the living expenses could be a little lower.
Again, I hold an European passport that I was able to get from an European grandmother but I've never lived in Europe for more than a year before.
All experiences are welcomed, including the current job market climate.
