Home sickness can be terrible. It keeps the mind preoccupied with thoughts of home. This leads to anxiety, nervousness, lack of proper concentration and difficulty in surviving. It is a mental condition which is hard to deal with. The person feels lonely and unmotivated to do anything.

Personal efforts can really help to cope up with this condition. Try to look around and keep a count of things which are good and makes us happy. Talk to your close friends and share your thoughts. Boost up your self esteem and try to adopt a positive outlook. Make yourself believe that it is a temporary phase, which happens to everyone. It will subside after some time as soon as you will become familiarized with the surroundings.

Always remember your reason and aim for moving away from home. Put in all sincere efforts and get engrossed in working for your goal. Everything else will automatically take a back seat.

I completely agree with you and would like to say that this sort of things can make people sick and if they will share their problems will have a good time. Through this can also feel free from tensions.

Working abroad, away from your family is extremely lonesome. Being away from your family for so long makes you think and worry about a lot of things. When one is working abroad and suffers from homesickness, he/she also might suffer from stress and anxiety. Often people feel sad or nervous and constantly think about home. Sometimes homesickness can be so overwhelming that individuals may withdraw from their new surroundings instead of getting out and exploring them. If you happen to experience homesickness when working abroad, you should always be be prepared and you should be open to meet new people. You should talk to someone and you need to active and optimistic in order to get away from homesickness blues.

Homesickness affects a person tremendously in terms of health, mental state and physical activities when your working abroad. There are times that having a family to talk to in just a couple of minutes is a life saver. Technology nowadays plays a big role in keeping spirits high for people working abroad. It's somehow the same reason why people keep coming back and work abroad, its because the technology specially in communication assures a more real-life and real-time interaction with your family. In this state of technology homesickness is still a very big issue, what more for people that worked abroad before the time of telecommunications and social media ? :(

Home sickness is the top problem being encountered by people who works and lives abroad. Although some people would be able to adjust and find ways to enjoy in another country, there are still a lot who are only counting the days till they step back in to their home country. This is especially true for Overseas Filipino Workers. Filipino's are known to have close family ties so it is inevitable to experience home sickness. Filipino's are used to celebrating special occasions with family and not being there would surely make you miss home. This is why most O.F.W. tries to make it a point to be home to their families during Christmas if their employer or contract permits them.
