Business Tax Essentials (2 hours) This seminar will cover the basic requirements to help NC businesses understand the laws and obligations necessary to be a tax compliant business. Participants will learn about filing and administrative requirements, the basics of NC sales & use tax law, and the basics of NC withholding tax law in addition to receiving directions for completing sales tax and withholding returns and for filing and paying online.

Working with NCDOR (Specialty) (1.5 hours) This seminar will help participants better understand how to communicate and interact with the NCDOR. Participants will learn about their rights as a taxpayer, how to locate available resources, and how to handle audit and collection situations.

Planning to Start a Business (Specialty) (3 hours) This seminar provides an introduction to the services and resources offered by state and federal agencies when someone is thinking about starting a business in NC. Participating agencies include the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR), and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC).

Starting a Business in NC (Specialty) (3 hours) This seminar covers business formation and registration requirements by state and federal agencies for someone starting a business in NC. Participating agencies include the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR), the North Carolina Secretary of State (SOS), the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC), and the NC Small Business Center Network (SBCN).

Growing Your Business: Hiring an Employee (Specialty) (3 hours) This seminar discusses the steps a business must take to hire an employee(s) for their business in NC. Participating agencies include the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of Labor (DOL), the North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR), the North Carolina Division of Employment Security (NCDES), the North Carolina Industrial Commission (NCIC) and the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL).

Privilege License (Seasonal Specialty) (1 hour) This seminar will provide a basic overview on privilege license tax. Participants will learn about the purpose of a privilege license, who must obtain a privilege license, and how to apply for a privilege license.
