Whether you are planning to explore throughout the Philippines, or just want to visit a certain destination in the area, there are many tourist spots to consider. Depending on what type of vacation you are seeking, there is sure to be a place that will fit whatever you are looking for.

Metro Manila

A premier city of the Philippines, Metro Manila is one of the hottest spots in the country. Here, you will find the famous Luneta Park, formerly known as Bagumbayan. This is the place where the national hero, Jose Rizal, was executed during the Spanish era. You will find many local and foreign travelers here every weekend. Also, plan to visit Paco Park, the SM Mall of Asia, Intramuros, Malate, Baywalk and other attractions.

North Luzon

When headed up north, you can start at Bulacan with rows of resorts, and then travel to the wonderful beaches in Bataan, Subic, Zambales, and La Union. If swimming is not what you are looking for, you can spend some time at Baguio City, the country's summer capital. You can also travel much further north and enjoy a great view of the world-famous Banaue Rice Terraces. When heading back to Manila, try to stop at Pampanga and have a taste of their sisig, tocino, and longanisa.

South Luzon

If you were surprised at the number of resorts you saw at Bulacan, double your excitement when heading south! Pansol in Laguna is a haven for swimming enthusiasts, as the area provides hundreds of pools for rent. Whatever size you are looking for, whether cold or hot springs, Laguna has it. Drive a couple more hours and you will be in Batangas; try some hiking at Mount Maculot or a scenic view at Taal Volcano; and do not miss the Cagsawa Church in Albay, which is also home to the Mayon Volcano.

Visayas

Paradise is what you find in Visayas - with Boracay topping the list in the region. Famous for its white beaches, it is a world-class resort. Spend some of your time visiting the islands in Plawan, where Puerto Princesa is located. Travel back in time when visiting Cebu as you take a peek at Magellan's Cross in the heart of the area; check out Fort San Pedro: swim at one of the numerous beach resorts; or experience the Sinulog festival. There are also many other festivals like Dinagyang of Iloilo, Masskara of Bacolod, and Ati-atihan of Aklan.

Mindanao

It is not true that Mindanao is a dangerous place to visit. This destination offers wonders like surfing in Siargao, the colorful vintas in Zamboanga, and tuna fishing in General Santos. Taste the durian of Davao or attend the Kadayawan Festival and swim at a resort like Pearl Farm.

The Philippines really is a paradise - with a wide range of destinations to choose from. Visit it now and have a wonderful lifetime experience.
